Drug Rehabilitation Requirement

Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR)

This is a court order which combines drug treatment, drug testing and weekly supervision with a probation officer. Offenders suitable for a DRR have a history of drug use, have tried to get off drugs in the past without success, want to stop using drugs and are prepared to have treatment and regular drug tests.

A DRR can last from six months to three years. Offenders see their probation officer once a week. They also attend a drug treatment agency up to five days a week and have a drug test twice a week. They go back to court every month for a progress report.

Our partner agencies are The Iceni Project, The Junction, and the Community Drugs Team, in Ipswich; West Suffolk Drugs Advisory Service and Focus, in Bury St Edmunds; and NORCAS, in Lowestoft.
