C- Criminal Justice Act (CJA)
TopD- Drink Impaired Drivers Programme (DIDP)
- An accredited programme for offenders who have committed drink-related driving offences.
- Drug Rehabilitation Requirement (DRR)
- Part of a community order made by the court, a DRR involves regular drug treatment and testing and supervision by a probation officer, in order to get an offender off drugs.
TopE- Education, Training and Employment (ETE)
- Job training and education schemes run by probation to help offenders into paid employment.
TopH- Home Office (HO)
- The Home Office is the UK government department responsible for homeland security, immigation, border control.
TopI- Integrated Domestic Abuse Programme (IDAP)
- Accredited programme for domestic violence offenders.
- Internet Sexual Offending Treatment Programme (I-SOTP)
- Accredited programme to reduce risk of internet sexual offending
TopL- Project to inform public about effectiveness of community sentences.
TopM- Ministry of Justice (MoJ)
- Government department responsible for courts, probation, prison and constitutional affairs.
- Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA)
- This is partnership working between Probation, Police and the Prison services to manage the most high risk offenders.
TopN- National Association of Probation Officers (NAPO)
- National Offender Management Service (NOMS)
- Part of the Ministry of Justice, NOMS was set up to provide end-to-end management of offenders through the prison and probation services.
TopO- Offender Substance Abuse Programme (OSAP)
- Accredited programme to raise awareness of link between drug and alcohol misuse and offending.
- One to One (1:1)
- Accredited programme aimed at enabling offenders to develop a range of problem-solving skills in order to change behaviour and values related to offending.
TopP- Prolific and other Priority Offenders (PPO)
- The Prolific and other Priority Offenders scheme targets the few offenders who between them commit the majority of offences.
TopS- Suffolk Probation Area (SPA)
TopT- Thames Valley - Sex Offender Groupwork Programme (TV-SOGP)
- Accredited programme aimed at reducing risk of future sexual offending by adult male sex offenders.
TopV- Violent and Sex Offenders Register (ViSOR)
- Database on violent offenders and sex offenders shared by police, probation and prison services.
